Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies
Dr. Christine Allison, author of "The Yezidi Oral Tradition in Iraqi Kurdistan" and co-editor of "Kurdish Culture & Identity" is giving a talk at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies called "Language and Identity in a Stateless Nation: The Case of Kurdish".
It will be held at the Centre on George Street, Oxford at 5pm on 17th October 2001.
KSMA Autumn Seminar
The Kurdish Scientific and Medical Association is having its autumn seminar in London on Sunday 28th October 2001 from 1.30-6 pm at London University Union.
The first session will be on Kurds and the World Wide Web and will be chaired by Dr. Hemin Mufti. Dr. Rebwar Fatah from www.kurdishmedia.com will speak as will Dilan Roshani from www.Kurdistanica.com, the Kurdish Encyclopedia site. The second session is entitled In Touch with Kurdistan and will be chaired by Dr. Hiro Khoshnaw. Dr. Nemam Ghafouri will talk about Indicators of Heart Disease among Kurdish People in Duhok and Dr. Hemin Mufti will talk about Simulation. After the conference an Italian restaurant has been booked.
